Michael Callaghan - Owner
I've been repairing, servicing, and installing heaters and boilers since 1995 in the Tahoe, Truckee, Donner Summit region.
Repair
I carry a large selection of parts on my truck e.g. control boards, ignitions, fan motor, inducer fan motors - high limits, gas valves, pressure switches. Most no heats can be fixed on the spot with no trips for parts.
Diagnostic & Repair Tips
Most newer heating units have an LED status code that help you diagnose the problem with your furnace. The LED is located on the control board and typically can be viewed through a window in the front of the front access doors. Some have a single LED that will flash a single code and then repeat itself 3 seconds later. Other units flash a double code slow first and fast second i.e. 2 slow flashes short pause 3 long flashes, then a long pause and then repeats itself. Refers to lockout code 23. Always get this code first then try to rebooting the unit by unplugging the unit for 1 minute. Then plug the unit back in and call for heat again and see if it starts working or runs for a few minutes then shuts down. If the latter happens get the code again and then call my cell phone for help 530-386-0830.
